We are now looking for a Software Solutions Safety Manager to join our Robotics & Discrete Automation business in Västerås, Sweden.
Join us and help create the next generation functional safety solutions for ABB robots, in a team of skilled and dedicated software developers and engineers.
This position reports to R&D Team Lead.
Your responsibilities
Ensure that the development and resulting products follow selected safety regulations and standards with focus on the development of software for functional safety of industrial robotics systems.
Define, maintain, and follow up on relevant processes to ensure that the product fulfill all safety requirements.
Assist in the certification of the products as an expert in the safety standards.
Participate or lead the global safety core team and secure that the safety strategy enables maintenance and optimized future development of products in regard to verifications/certifications.
Your background
University degree, preferably in Software Development or Safety Critical Systems
At least 6 years' experience in a relevant field
Knowledge of functional safety development
Knowledge or experience in software development
It's a merit if you have knowledge in specific safety standards, e.g. IEC 61508, ISO13849, ISO10218
Fluent in English, written and spoken alike, Swedish skills are considered as an advantage
A thorough and structured person with excellent planning and coordinating skills
Good communicator with a "can do" attitude who sees safety as an enabler, not a blocker
A real team player with excellent collaboration skills
