At the Advanced engineering Workshop, which is part of Concept Center, you will participate and contribute to the next generation of innovative premium cars from Volvo. Together with colleagues both within Volvo Cars and all over the world, you will be involved in developing innovative car technology that puts people at the center.

We are now looking for a passionate Software System Engineer to work towards improving the user experience and developing the next generation of technology!

What you’ll do
In your role as a Software system engineer- UX mechatronic, you construct complete solutions for electrical systems, hardware and software according to the client´s wishes. At an early stage, you are involved in the system build-up from idea to final delivery of the finished electrical design. In the assignment, you are expected to take responsibility for stability, security, and the selection of both hard and soft components. 

You will be a crucial part of the entire process of developing and building the future products within the vehicle industry, from the initial stages of ideation to building and delivering the product. Therefore, you will need to have a structured and adaptable programming approach and fully document the system. 

You and your skills
To be successful in this role we believe that you have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical or Mechatronics. You have working experience of programming in C/C++, Python, and Linux environment. Aside from that, you have experience with electrical-design, schematic, and solder electrical circuits. As well as experience from software development and quality assurance of embedded systems and knowledge of Serial, LIN, and CAN-FD protocols. We also see that you are a good communicator and are fluent in English (both written and spoken). 

Having experience from User Interface development and frameworks such as QT (cross technologies), Android are meritorious.

On a personal level, we think that you have a great interest in developing technical solutions that make life easier. This includes having a good ability and understanding of design intentions including the creative process and how to balance this with the technical prerequisites. You are a well structural and organized person and take pride into your work and deliveries.
