We envision that our friends, families and children are transported in a personal, sustainable, and safe way. To reach this, we build a self-driving, fully electric, connected and super safe Volvo Car.  The amount of software in our future vehicles is by far exceeding many other software critical products and businesses. We tend to see the future cars as a computer, a “Core System”, on wheels. To orchestrate such a huge software-centric system, we need a computer that is powerful enough to carry all features from control loops to AI/Machine Learning capabilities. We need a software architecture that enables us to utilize the hardware and to support a fast-moving organization and development. In addition, we are in a transformation with our products and our company to become more of a software-driven company. Our strategic and operational work on our SW & Electronics Core System plays an important role in enabling this transformation. In this quest of pushing the boundaries we need people with competence and knowhow within development of complex Software and Embedded System. 

About us - Platform Software Services
Building this new software-centric platform is highly prioritized and we are facing a new stage within Volvo Cars. Our department was established to take lead in the coming challenges. Our ART is newly assigned by a team of Software Engineers with both a holistic understanding of SW architecture and a commitment to details and quality code. We are responsible for governing API and application architecture for the software in the Electric Control Units. We set deliverables, frameworks, patterns, and policies that are fundamental for other development teams to build with consensus. We also act as development support by working together with teams to succeed with development and integration. We are using agile way of working and SAFe methodology.

What you will do 
As a technical writer for Developer eXperience (DX) you will be a part of building a completely new team as well as building up the strategy ahead for this area. You will be collaborating with many different colleagues widely within the organization as well as within our own ART. You will be one technical corner stone in creating world class Developer eXperience for our software application developers. We will together shape the future of the Developer eXperience area and create strategies and plans on how to make it real and we will also put the plans into action. 

You and your skills
We believe that you are curious, openminded and have a passion for software development, technical documentation and creating a world class Developer eXperience for our software application developers to enable a smooth integration on our software stack.
We believe you are a software engineer who is motivated by challenging tasks in a complex and innovative environment. Needless to say- technology and teamwork is your real passion. You enjoy learning from others, as well as, sharing your knowledge with your colleagues. You are fluent in English and can communicate effectively with all types of stakeholders. You are social, analytical and a problem solver.

We believe that you have:
•    M.Sc. in Electrical and/or Computer Science, Software Engineering  
•    10+ years of experience within software development and technical documentation 
•    Experience and competence in;
o    CI/CD tools (Git bash, Git, Gerrit, JIRA)

Meritorious
•    Experience within Automotive and related standards such as ASPICE
•    Experience from working with Development eXperience (DX)
•    SAFe experience 
•    ISO26262 understanding 
•    Cyber Security knowledge
