Arbetsbeskrivning
At Product and Quality, you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. Are you interested in design and connected car technology? Do you share our passion for people, the environment and our urge to create a superior driving experience? Product and Quality is the place for you to prosper.
Get to know us!
The department Propulsion Controls and Calibration is responsible for development of major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. The group Charging Software is responsible for delivering software functionality, in regards of actual software deliveries, but also software and diagnostics requirements, for the on-board charger and the DCDC converters in our electrified vehicles.
The on-board charger is essential for electrified vehicles, it holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of highest importance in a pure electric vehicle.
The biggest challenge with the DC-charging functionality of electrified vehicle is that half of the system is outside of the vehicle. The success of the charging-sequence is highly dependent on the implementation in the charging station done by other companies and that they interpret the standard in the same way as we do. We therefore need to do the uttermost we can in our SW/HW to make charging of the vehicle successful.
What will you do?
As a Software Test Engineer, you will be part of an agile team that delivers Application Software for the on-board charger. You’ll work in parallel with the developers with the common input of software requirement, where the developer do the implementation, while you focus on creating the test case and the stimuli, so that the implementation and testing can merge later on and to give the test verdict of pass or failed. The developer responsibility goes to unit test whilst your responsibility will be for a larger scope of many combined implementation tasks.
The development task is done in Matlab/Simulink and the automated virtual test cases are deployed in either Model-in-the loop (MIL) or Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) environment. The span of tools/environments demands you to easily navigate between Matlab/Simulink, C-code, python and scripts that controls the interaction between the implementation and the testcases. Your test cases will be added in the different phases of the Continues Integration tool chain (CI) depending on the nature of the tests and of the requirement. You need to understand embedded systems utilizing AUTOSAR and as well the knowledge of modify, create and fault trace the scripts that controls the CI and that enables us to go between the different environments.
Apart of both manual and automated virtual testing, testing on target e.g. HIL (Hardware-In-the-Loop) will be a part of the job, where we are striving to fulfil level 3 of ASPICE.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe that you have at least a B. Sc. degree within engineering, preferably electronics, software/computer engineering or equivalent competence. On top on this, you have some years’ experience with model-based development and/or testing for embedded systems. We are a global company so a must for us is that you are fluent in English. Also, you should have a driving license (B), preferably you love cars as much as we do!
But we also have a few things that is nice to have! If you also have any of the following skills, we consider it to be meritorious:
• Experience of working as software/function developer/test engineer
• Experience of embedded system development
• Experience of Matlab/Simulink, TestWeaver, SVN, Git/Gerrit
• Experience of coding in Python, scripts
• Experience of product development within the automotive industry
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and development, especially the application layer
• Knowledge of charging standards like CCS and CHAdeMO
