Software tester to AMRA Medical AB

Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?

AMRA is a ground-breaking international digital health company at the forefront of medical imaging and precision medicine. AMRA was founded in 2010 as a spin-off of Linköping University, Sweden, with the aim to support transformative care and vital decision-making, from clinical research to health and wellness. Today we are 55 employees, operating in the US, European and Asian market, with the need to expand further.

The company has developed a new global standard in body composition assessment, the ability to automatically produce multiple fat and muscle biomarkers with unrivaled precision and accuracy, as well as contextual disease insights - all from a single whole-body MRI.

We work with the world’s leading pharma companies and academic hospitals.

Job assignments

In your role as a software tester at AMRA, your main responsibility is to report to the rest of the organization about the state of our software in a way that allows us to make as informed decisions as possible whether we should release/don't release/fix/don't fix.

We have an in-house developed software platform that is only accessible and used by AMRA staff. We believe that we currently maintain a good level of automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests. We also believe that our current level of exploratory testing, testing from the perspective of an end user and the amount of critical thinking from people not directly involved in building our software needs to be higher. This is where you come in.

If you have experience in any of the following areas, that is a plus. Even if you do not, you might still be interesting to us.

- Working in a regulated environment
- Working with testing of medical devices
- Basic knowledge of statistical analysis. Since we measure biomarkers in the human body that can only be produced using our technology, sometimes it is difficult or even impossible to know what the right answer is.
- Experience in defining test strategies and creating and executing test plans.

There are several opportunities to expand this role into both working with risk management, internal support to end users of our software platform, internal audits, and other areas where you help us ensure that we maintain our quality standards.

Who are we looking for?

We want to hire people who want to learn and evolve. You are service minded and enjoy asking for help when you do not understand and explaining things to others when they don't understand.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in working with software testing. This can be either a little, some or a lot of experience. Your attitude, potential and personality is more important than the number of years of experience you have. You get additional bonus points if you know stuff about any of the following topics:

- How medical devices are built - for example insight into ISO 13485:2016 or EN 62304:2006.
- Python - most of our source code is written in Python
- Docker - our environment is fully containerized
- Linux and MacOS - these are the operating systems we use
- JIRA - our issue tracking system

Even if your experience does not match any of this, you might still be an interesting candidate. Your attitude, potential and personality along with your software testing experience are by far the most important aspects.

The majority of the team are located in Linköping. Some staff are working remotely from the UK and some from the USA. A good knowledge of both Swedish and English is therefore a requirement.

What do we offer?

We offer a stimulating workplace with varying work tasks, highly knowledgeable colleagues, and plenty of opportunities to make a difference.

You will be involved and take responsibility for everything from the operation of our applications, how we write and test our code, end users experience and everything in between.

We are a young company that has a strong scientific foundation, now building a worldwide market presence. As part of our team, you get the opportunity to contribute to a healthier world.
