A Solution Architect is needed during the period Feb 2023 – Jun 2023
Location can be discussed. The work will to a large extent be done remotely using digital meetings
Traveling to the HQ in Solna and to paper mills will be necessary.

For this assignment you can be hired as a consultant at Randstad Technologies or work as a freelancer / subcontractor.

The client need to compile a roadmap for the current MES-system landscape. The client has six different mills in Europe, all with different setup when it comes to MES (Manufacturing Execution System). Some MESs are up-to-date, others out-dated and thus associated with risks and hinders the client to fulfill the plans for the coming years.
We need to strengthen our team with a solution architect with experience from mainly
Operations in Process industry, combined with an extensive knowledge in Supply Chain and its requirements on the MES-landscape in Pulp and Paper. The work that needs to be done is an investigation of the current landscape, gathering strategic requirements and setting the roadmap for the MES-landscape of the client in Europe. The work also needs to take in consideration the MES-landscape of the client in US.
Project work and documentation is conducted in English.

Responsibilities
Lead solution architecture work in early phases/pre-studies
Collaboration with other architects and stakeholder within and outside project to ensure alignment with architecture direction and other project objectives

The overall focus of the role of the Solution Architect is to ensure a holistic, long-term,
architectural roadmap that are in line with the clients strategic and architectural direction.
Responsible for developing documentation of relevant parts. Ongoing collaboration with
other architects within the organization to ensure a holistic viable IT architecture.
Gather information from SMEs and the different situations in the mills as well as the future
needs, both from a local, mill, perspective as well from an overall group perspective.

Qualifications
Solution architect with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
Extensive experience working with MES
Extensive experience of MES vendor landscape and market trends in the area
Experience working with Supply Chain
Experience working with different ERP systems
Experience working with outbound logistics
Experience working with warehouse management
Experience working with EDI


A skilled communicator, with a structured and thorough way of working
Pedagogical and with the ability to articulate complex questions in simplified ways
Self-starter with ability to create structure and drive progress through teamwork
Ability to think critically, recognize and anticipate problems (both technical and operational), and identify and implement solutions in a timely manner
