Solution Architect

· As a Data Solution Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that Solution Architectures are fit for purpose, deliver against the business needs and are architected appropriately for the longer term strategic needs of the business
· You will do this by working with key stakeholders in their supplier communities and alongside other internal functions
· You will be actively engaging in identifying and shaping new data solutions and processing techniques within the business
· You will ensure that all architecture deliverables are of the appropriate standard and all projects are effectively governed via a formal gating process


Key Experience and Skills


A broad understanding of a variety of technologies, with in depth experience in data architecture areas and technologies:


· Data Warehousing and BI: Experience of data warehousing components, including ETL, data quality, dimensional models and reporting
· Data Modelling: Experience with the design and implementation of relational and dimensional data models
· Data Analytics: Experience of intelligent, data driven solutions with embedded analytics
· Data Governance: Experience in data governance and data stewardship best practices
· Storage and Data Management: Teradata or equivalent MPP, Oracle, but also "big data" technologies, such as Hadoop, MapR, Mongo
· ETL: preferably IBM DataStage, or equivalent Informatica, Ab initio, SSIS
· Reporting/Visualization Tools and Software: QlikView, Business Objects, Tableau
· Data modelling tools, e.g. SPARX Enterprise Architect, Power Designer, CA ERwin
· Understanding of a variety of architecture and development methodologies and techniques
· Agile Development
· Cloud Architectures
