We are currently looking for a Solution Architect to join our team.

The Apps & Vehicle Data product area and the Customer Acquisition & Services domain

The Apps & Vehicle Data Product Area is responsible for delivering and maintaining In-car apps, mobile apps, Polestar ID and vehicle lifecycle products.

This product area forms part of the Customer Acquisition and Services domain, where we deliver digital solutions that enable the acquisition of new customers and services to existing customers. Our primary goal is to provide our customers with a first-class experience in both the physical and digital touchpoints. The domain leverages a best-of-breed of technology, combining bespoke solutions with commercial technologies. The domain is a key enabler of Polestar’s overall strategy as a Direct-to-consumer brand and the increasingly important aftermarket business


About the role

As the Solution Architect you will own the technical and architectural decisions for your product team, valuing simplicity and are willing to challenge technical constraints and procedures to achieve robust and scalable solutions. You will be the visionary force behind the technical solutions and are responsible for planning and developing the architectural runway in collaboration with the Domain Architect. You will also ensure that solutions meet business needs and are compatible with existing architectures.

Our technical landscape consists of .NET Core, Node.js, Typescript, React.js, GraphQL. Our applications run in AWS on a serverless architecture using lambda functions and services such as DynamoDB. For the mobile app we build on both iOS and Android with internal back-end integrations and the in-car apps are built on Google Automotive Services, or Android Automotive.

What you will do

- Design the overall technological architecture of the Digital products with the help of the teams and Domain Architect, steered by the strategy and vision of the digital product manager.
- Ensure solutions align to the enterprise policies as defined by the Architecture & Standards team
- Guide teams on technology strategy related to DevOps practices
- Ensuring solutions development are scalable and global by design
- Identify and remove technical impediments, in collaboration with the Domain Architect
- Work with Digital and Technical Leads to align the roadmap with strengths and opportunities within the technical stack
- Work close with the product area Service Designer to bring concepts into realistic technical context.
- Constantly work with improving the Digital product/service/platform, not afraid to challenge the status quo
- You will own the list of identified technical debt for a digital product/service/platform, prioritize it together with the domain architect, and work with the team to gradually reduce technical debt associated with the digital product/service/platform, as well as cross-cutting domain issues in the sprints
- Provide the teams with policies and guidelines regarding software engineering practices to ensure stability, scalability and performance
- Work and align across suppliers and partners in the connected car environment
- Be part and/or lead pre-studies on connectivity features for future car models to determine and shape integrations that will be used in the years to come.


Who you are

- Seasoned technical lead with deep insight into newest technology trends in automotive.
- Significant experience with a modern enterprise setup using event driven microservices.
- Experience with cloud technologies and services, preferably serverless.
- Can make architecture decisions at both team and Digital product level.
- Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations and business units.
- Keen sense of design thinking.
- Experience managing technical priorities within backlog.
- Strong communication skills with ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions.
- Experience with modern development practices including DevOps, agile methodologies, microservice development, serverless, and cloud infrastructure.
