What we offer?
The Solution R&D Engineering Enablers & Digital consists of several ARTs/Clusters. The solution is an agile set up of two organizations, R&D and Digital.
In our cluster Insights and Product Development Support (IPDS) we are now hiring one Solution Architect. The Cluster’s main goal is to support different stakeholders with digital solutions. The IPDS cluster is working with enabling product development within Volvo Cars with digital tools and solutions. We are also working with leveraging insights and analytics to support in the development of new products and services. The cluster is using a wide array of technologies and platforms and the stakeholders are spread out both internally within Volvo Cars and externally at our partners.
To achieve this, the cluster consist of 10 different products where Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Product teams work alongside according to the agile framework SAFe to deliver value to the Products that are aligned to the architectural runway.
What you’ll do
The Solution Architect defines a common technical and architectural vision/runway for the Cluster and participates in defining the systems, functions, modules, interfaces, validate technology assumptions, and evaluate alternatives within the solution context.
We are looking for someone that can have an agile approach to designing and building systems and have a systems-thinking mindset. Someone with customer centric design thinking that can guide and lead the product teams to moving in the right direction and help us in continuing our transformation towards a DevOps future. You will work closely with the teams in our cluster and help them align their products into the architectural runway.
You will be working with other Solution Architects outside the cluster such as R&D architects as well with our existing Solution Architect in the IPDS cluster. The role will be focusing on data flow from vehicles which indicates that the solutions and architectural runway you design will focus to support vehicle data.
You will also participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Pre- and Post-PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and Inspect and Adapt events where you support the teams as well as the Product Manager and Product Owners.

• Experience from managing stakeholders
• Ability to have a holistic architectural and business mindset
• Understand information and data lifecycles.
• Being forward looking within the business and research data and information spaces
• Passionate to create an information eco-system
• Ability to analyze information usage patterns and performance
