Solution Architect – Digital Platform Machine Data Analytics Expert

Solution Architect – Digital Platform Machine Data Analytics Expert

Arbetsbeskrivning

For Sandvik Coromant and our Digital Platform team in Gimo, we’re now looking for a structured and curious Solution Architect. Someone creative and forward thinking with a passion for technology, manufacturing, and teamwork. Sandvik Coromant is a market-leading manufacturer of products for metal cutting. If you’re ready to join us on this exciting transformation journey where new technology is developing our business, then this can be your next great opportunity.
As the only production plant in Sweden, the Sandvik Coromant production unit in Gimo was recognized by the World Economic Forum in 2019 as a digital lighthouse in manufacturing. The main reason why Gimo was selected was the digital thread which runs through the whole production process, something that has significantly raised productivity and keeps doing so. Watch this film and find out how it works! https://youtu.be/OvmlBDtNSCU A lot has happened since 2019 yet the continued journey towards the Factory of the Future has only just started. There is so much more to do moving forward – and that’s where you come in!
About the job
Joining us as Solution Architect within the area of Industry 4.0 and machine analytics, you’re responsible for transforming data into formats that can easily be analyzed, processed and close-loop/human-loop automated. You design, develop, and maintain strategies for the area, as well as participate in hands-on activities for data collection, analytics and closed-loop/human-loop automation and actuation. As Gimo is our largest production unit, this is where we initially develop and test the efficiency and profitability of new production machines. Before we launch them to other global sites. As part of this process, you create and sustain roadmaps, templates, and guidelines while you proactively develop new solutions to meet future demands.
In our production flows in the factory, we’re mostly using automated processes and robots – all the way from managing raw materials to a finalized physical product – and some production cells are run completely without any human interaction. It’s an environment that places great demands on connectivity and information management between our software and machines. Creating benefits by improving quality, reducing lead-times and driving cost efficiency in the production processes are an integrated part of the job
We offer flexibility in remote work, although you need to spend time in Gimo on a regular basis as you work in close collaboration with our on-site production teams, internal stakeholders and take part in development projects. Some travel is normally also included in the job.

About you
You’re a detailed and visionary Data Analytics or Data Science Architect that is interested in developing new production IT-technology that enables increased automation as well as new ways of manufacturing products for the Sandvik Coromant product portfolio. You have several years of working experience backed by a relevant academic degree or the corresponding work experience, and you understand challenges in production IT and automation connected to the industry. Experience from software, control systems, industrial IT integrations and CNC-machinery are beneficial. You can navigate and work in Azure, Kubernetes or similar Machine Learning Frameworks and you have a solid understanding in C#, Python and Java. Since we work in a global setting, you must communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.

Your soft skills truly matter to us! As a curious and humble listener, you’re able to put yourself in the shoes of others – finding ways to create to the point and engaging communication that matches the needs of your target audience. You’re good at interacting with stakeholders and through dialogue you understand how the new technology contributes to increased end-user values. Being a true problem-solver, you genuinely enjoy testing scenarios and evaluating different angles, teaming up with colleagues and partners to improve our machine data and analytics connections. Through organized and proactive ways of working and focusing on quality and customer needs, you make sure that we constantly improve ourselves and continue to be a frontrunner in automated manufacturing methods. You’re also eager to dig deep into how new technology, digital development and thoughtful interfaces can enhance manufacturing operations.
We believe that our diversities lead to a successful business environment, and we’re looking forward to meeting you. Meanwhile, if you want to know more about Sandvik Coromant, we recommend a visit on our website, LinkedIn or Facebook page.
