Solution Architect - Operations Solutions (Sweden)
Outokumpu IT is responsible for delivering IT business applications and infrastructure services for Outokumpu. IT co-operates closely with Business Areas and other Group Functions in identifying and delivering solutions that increase Outokumpu’s business performance.
Operations Solutions is responsible for all site/mill specific solutions and overall development of our manufacturing operations-related IT capabilities, from manufacturing execution to asset optimization in two of our business areas in Europe and Ferrochrome.
We are looking for Solution Architect to oversee our IT solutions in the Operations Solutions Sweden domain. We operate our solutions at our plants in Avesta, Torshälla, and Degerfors.
As Solution Architect, you will be responsible for our area technical solutions, planning, and ensuring overall architecture and business process fit. You will support our complete IT ecosystem, like Applications and Technical Service Managers, collaborating tightly with site L2/automation teams, driving continuous improvements, reviewing technical solutions, evaluating effort estimates, etc. Support ongoing transition and transformation processes, create, and evaluate proposals, and act as a technical expert in our projects. As a team member of Outokumpu Group IT, you will participate in group-wide IT processes and working method improvement.


Main responsibilities:
Driving for standardization, modernization, and quality in our solutions
Drive continuous improvements of our IT solutions in terms of fit for purpose and process efficiency​
Align with other Solution Architects and Enterprise Architecture to ensure solutions fit our global landscape
Improve End-user Experience in terms of ease of use, intuition, fit for purpose, etc.​
Management and maintenance of technical documentation and solution compliance​


Key technical skills and qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or similar role
An applicable academic degree or qualification in technology
IT and ITIL knowledge in theory and practice
Experience in working with virtual multinational teams
Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbal and in written text
Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and quality
Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills


Position is based in Avesta, Sweden with a possibility to work hybrid. Some travelling to other sites as well abroad is also expected.
Person in this position reports to the Head of Operation Solutions Sweden, Daniel Fridén.
