Job Description
The Test Enablement team, a part of the Tech Enablement unit, plays an instrumental part in enhancing our organization's test agility by providing necessary capabilities and support. Our work includes test advisory services, test strategy, managing test automation frameworks and tooling, overseeing test management platforms, and handling test data management. Our contributions continuously empower our Product Teams to execute efficient delivery of high-quality products.
The Solution Architect’s responsibilities include, among other things, to translate business and tech requirements into architecture blueprints for test automation frameworks, identify areas in need of improvement and provide leadership related to the test automation development by being responsible for the architecture and delivery of a test automation solution or portfolio of solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards advancing the architecture towards the target state. The Solution Architect should also be able to update stakeholders on roadmaps and implementation plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Contextualize strategic vision and direction; conduct analysis, identify opportunities, constraints and support strategic activities related to development and management of test automation solutions.
Analyze, design, develop and maintain roadmaps for test automation frameworks.
Build prototypes and proofs of concept.
Review, analyze and facilitate stakeholder understanding of business and technology implication of future direction; influence decisions.
Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints for test automation frameworks.
Create architectural designs to guide test automation development across initiatives that aligns with business goals. Evaluate, design and analyze the implementation of test automation solutions.
Identify interdependencies between test automation frameworks used in different initiatives.
Evaluate and drive continuous improvement in test automation frameworks.
Participate in internal activities related to technology matching and selection to ensure technology choice aligns with overall tech architecture.
Provide guidance on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, impact, priorities etc. related to test automation frameworks.
Facilitate best practice sharing around test automation frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
Strong programming skills in languages like Java, Python, or TypeScript
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Specflow or Robot Framework
Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
Experience in developing GitHub custom actions using TypeScript/JavaScript
Knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman Enterprise
Proficiency in creating and executing automated test scripts
Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery (Azure CI/CD, GitHub Actions) pipelines and their integration with test automation frameworks
Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies such as TDD and BDD
Familiarity with version control systems like Git
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and propose effective solutions
Ability to drive test automation improvement initiatives and influence others to prioritize automation considerations
Experience in developing GitHub custom actions using TypeScript/JavaScript
