Solution Engineer

Who are we?


Solution Architecture is a diverse and passionate team based in Gothenburg and part of the Electrical and Electronics Platform organization.


What do we do?


We find solutions! To do so we work together with our internal and external stakeholders to translate their needs into a high-level solution intent which we elaborate into systems solutions together with cross functional and cross engineering teams. Our ultimate goal is to maximize the features and services delivered on a given EE architecture while minimizing its technical debt.


What will you do?


The solution engineer has a complete solution and system responsibility of the product development for the assigned solution area and/or product change.
In this position you will also:
Lead the exploration of alternative high-level solutions during the very early phases of EPIC or to mature new technologies, while striving for the best trade-off between the business needs, our design and platform strategies, lead time, cost aspects and technical constraints
Drive the development of competitive and timely system solutions for the application needs, securing all aspects of the solution from the changes needed in the application SW of the different involved ECUs to the components changes and their installation
Secure that the cybersecurity and functional safety risks are identified and mitigated. The development of specific CS or/and FS concepts might be needed to together with our domain experts
Perform system level performance and usage analysis to anticipate bottlenecks and needed upgrades
Provide technical expertise and system knowledge to support the development teams through the development of the solution

Who are you?


To be successful in this position you are knowledgeable in embedded systems, preferably with some experience in system and function design with a good understanding on how functions and services are realized through application SW, SW platforms (Autosar Platform, Embedded Linux, etc.), electronics (ECUs) and electrical components (sensors, actuators, etc.). Being familiar with the Volvo GTT EE architecture (TEA2+) is a merit.
You are familiar with automotive standards and technologies, especially onboard communication technologies and protocols (CAN, LIN and Ethernet), as well as the challenges related to functional safety and cyber-security.
We believe that you should also be able to easily navigate through complex and global organizations, leading others to address multi-dimensional problems.
