We are looking for an experienced Solution Engineer to develop and maintain solutions for engineering efficiency, virtual trust, and digital twin capabilities at the Volvo Group.

Volvo is driving several exciting transformation projects and initiatives to digitalize our business processes, leverage the value of data, and become a fully data-driven company. We are part of Core Platform Area PLM/PDM Department working to increase efficiency through our current set of digital and IT solutions.

Our existing IT solutions comprises of a mix of varied technologies like Microsoft, Java, and Commercial Off the shelf (COTS) IT solutions and SaaS solutions from CAD and PLM vendors where PTC and Windchill is the PLM backbone. We are now starting up a heavy investment to transform and modernize our overall IT architecture and to further increasing the use of our PLM capabilities to build a modern digital collaboration platform to increase R&D Efficiency.

We are supporting the Volvo Group’s Digital ambitions to become a fully agile, data-driven company, and we are building the foundations for the virtual trust, supported by improved use of digital twins, i.e the digital data representing a physical object as well as an improved digital thread, the integrated view of physical products’ digital data through its lifecycle.

This is how you could make an impact
As a Solution Engineer, you will interface with business stakeholders & subject matter experts to identify their needs. You will responsible for delivering the solution that supports the business requirements, using various technologies (COTS or other), products and platforms. You interact with various team-members to provide the right solutions and expertise. You balance various aspects of the delivery, from end to end. Additionally, you research advanced technology regarding best practices in the field and seek to find cost-effective solutions.

Key responsibilities
Lead in delivering the identified solution
Provide detailed functional and non-functional requirements and specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved
Involve in backlog preparation by confirming objective and requirements within agile teams
Work closely with Product teams to ensure products and solutions are available and working properly.
Ensure that the solution developed complies with given architecture guidelines, specifications and business partner quality requirements and ensuring the usage of standards, tools and platforms
Identify and propose solutions and features to fit product
Solve assigned issues together with the business
Analyze current technologies used and perform techwatch, build prototypes and PoCs.
Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates requirements such as legal, customer experience or other
Align with Volvo Group Security directives and fulfilling the demands for information security

Experience needed:
At least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar positions, preferably in Automotive industry
You have experience within the Product Development and Configuration Tools
Relevant business understanding of virtual configuration management to provide virtual contexts to different end applications and formats
Must understand the frameworks, processes and tools essential for Business Analysis.
You have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Engineering degree or similar within relevant areas
You have excellent communication skills and speak English fluently
