Overview and purpose of the role


We are looking to expand the team by bringing on board an additional Solution Expert to work multi-nationally across our European markets within a well-known global brand.
The Solution Expert will work with, and be the expert in, multiple finance solutions used across multiple markets in VFS. The role holder will work to fully understand the functionality and capabilities of the systems they support, applying this expertise in working closely with stakeholders to ensure business results are achieved by getting the most from these systems.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in finance rules for financial services companies, able to understand business needs and to translate these into effective solutions. One of the key deliverables in this role will be the definition of end-to-end accounting rules for various European markets (IFRS & Local), and the implementation of these rules in the accounting engines used by the respective markets.
Additionally, the role holder will be a strong communicator at all levels of the organization, able to communicate complex information in a user-friendly way and able to work and communicate cross-culturally.
The location is flexible within EMEA. Ideally in Warsaw, Gothenburg.


Key responsibilities:
Work to understand full solution capability and functionality, becoming a true expert
Work closely with business stakeholders, across multiple departments and countries, so they are able to realise the potential of various solutions
Analyse business requirements to understand needs for solution modifications, in line with system capabilities
Ensure understanding of any changes or updates to solutions, undertaking full testing, and communicating changes as needed
Support the solution development process by providing business and technical best practices and identifying functionalities necessary to cover business needs
Recommend metrics to measure the performance of the solutions in run-time, identifying opportunities for solution improvement
Validate the functional and technical specifications and test cases
Provide business expertise and knowledge in simple or complex process flows and mapping with applications, group of applications, or applications sub-portfolios
Support project team with the implementation of solutions

Education and Professional experience:
University degree or specialized diploma in Finance / Computer Science
5+ years experience with setting up booking schemas in GL/ERP systems for finance lease companies in Europe
5+ years experience with finance transformation projects for finance lease companies
Fluent knowledge in multi-currency, multi-book, regulated finance markets for leasing companies
Ideally will have experience working with multiple solutions in across multiple countries
Knowledge of Navision as a GL tool is a plus

Competencies and skills


Essential:
Expert in finance for financial services companies
Can provide insight on the spot for the accounting rules on the major business events for a leasing contract (IFRS & local for some markets)
Has the ability to learn local accounting rules of a new market and support business with defining the booking schema for them
Able to understand business needs and translate into effective actions
Strong communication skills – able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and cross-culturally
Able to effectively challenge business stakeholders thiking in a positive and constructive way
Ability to say “no” in a constructive way and suggest alternatives
Pro-active, driven with high perseverance
Strong problem solving skills, identifying, structuring, monitoring and delivering results
Strong planning and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
Highly experienced in working with finance related tools / GL systems
Advanced level of English (oral/written). An additional European language(s) is desirable
Ability to travel internationally – potentially frequently at times depending on the level of support the market needs
Self-driven and able to work remotely



Desirable:
A good understanding of the VFS business and processes
Experience in, or understanding of, the asset finance industry
Experience of project management in the Financial Services industry
Experience of working multi-nationally across EMEA
