As a Solution and AppStore Manager, you will have full responsibility within the Digital Engagement Platform to assist and manage the implementation and support the solutions and the applications in the AppStore. Including responsibility to manage the development and maintenance of in-house solutions across multiple markets in VFS, in line with business stakeholder expectations, as well as, communicate our vision and maintain high-quality support to enable a consistent, high quality solution and application service.


The Solution and AppStore Manager will lead a highly performing team to ensure delivery of projects in line with business expectations, internal processes and compliance guidelines whilst managing the day to day maintenance and driving the future transformation activities of the solution and the implementation of the App.
You will report to the Director Digital Engagement Platform, VFS Digital & IT – HQ. The following locations are possible: Poland, Sweden and The Netherlands.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


• Partner with global and regional functional stakeholders to provide the implementation and runtime support for the applications in the AppStore
• Work collaboratively with the Powertrain manager to develop broadly acceptable solutions
• Build and maintain a high performing team; hire and retain the right talent in the right role
• Work collaboratively with implementation partners and managed services providers to secure quality delivery
• Work with the markets and functions to evolve the Digital Engagement Appstore
• Ensure process adherence and capabilties improvements in the development cycle, but especially on maintaining the solution landscape based on the capability model (completeness and usability cross-markets)
• Actively promote the applications in the AppStore through market requirement – capability – solution assessments
• Provide second and third line support services for applications in the AppStore
• Facilitate/Monitor review of the functional/design specification
• Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration and mentoring
• Managing the ongoing, planning, design, and maintenance of existing in-house solutions and the applications in the AppStore - including prioritization of projects, balanced with continuous improvement and technical and maintenance requirements
• Comprehensive performance management of the team including hiring, training, active coaching and setting aggressive and realistic objectives.
• Identify areas for improvements, define methodology and technical requirements and drive experiments to optimize platform
• Safeguard the cross functional and multi-market solution scope based on the global capability model.
• Develop a roadmap for transformation of applications and engage with Stakeholders to secure buyin and acceptance
• Develop and empower direct reports to make appropriate technical decisions – in line with the Design Authority recommendations
• Drive consistency in artifacts and deliverables, budgets, and resource planning
• Generate innovative ideas, solutions, and opportunities to contribute to further development of the platform
• Resolve product and project related issues at higher levels
• Responsible for people management, capacity planning
• Responsible for team building and motivation of the team for technical excellence and growth
• Accountability for VICS-IT and PDS compliance in line with all internal security and compliance guidelines


EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE


• Fulltime Bachelor and/or Master degree in Engineering and/or Computer Science
• Must have 3-5 years of total work experience with strong focus of Product Delivery
• Experience managing full life cycle of projects and overseeing software release implementations
• Agile development methodology experience (Scrum/Kanban) preferred
• Ability to work independently and in small teams, partner effectively cross-group, and manage multiple priorities and deliverables concurrently.
• Experience organizing, running, supporting, and growing engineering and development teams

• Ability to be both player & coach: we’re looking for someone who is passionate about getting into the details and driving large technology initiatives while coaching and empowering teams to take ownership
• Deep expertise in building software solutions, specifically performance distributed systems, leveraging modern frameworks
• Displaying a strong spirit of innovation, self-starter, independent and with ability to come up with solutions to complex problems
• Passion for software quality, delivering high scale services and achieving engineering excellence
• Experience in delivering scalable and high performance services and applications with excellent quality
• Experience in Micro-services design and implementation and developing platform/server side components/APIs
• Ability to build strong cross functional relationships internally and externally to drive key focus areas
