A summer cover vacancy has occurred within the Consular & Visa Section of the British Embassy.

The Consular / Visa Section of the Embassy is main interface with British and international clients. It deals with public on a daily basis, making decisions on applications for visas to the U.K, the issue of passports and a care of duty to help British nationals.

We are looking for someone to work in the visa section during the busy summer period June - Aug (3 months) in our small, hardworking Consular and Visa Section. The job will entail dealing directly with visa applicants and general administrative tasks. The successful applicant will have a strong work ethic, excellent inter personal skills, keen eye for detail and previous experience of working with the public and to tight deadlines. The ability to deal with high levels of stress whilst maintaining a good demeanour both with colleagues and customers is essential.

Previous experience of life in the U.K. would be advantageous. Experience of dealing with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures and an understanding of diversity and multiculturalism would be an asset. Skills and Experience:

Essential

. Excellent communication skills which will include good written and spoken English and Swedish and an open and friendly manner;
. Excellent organisational skills, an ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines;
. A "customer focused", service delivery approach to work;
. Good IT skills (Word, Outlook, MS Access )
