Sommelier
Performance/Responsibilities
This position contributes to the Company's Mission, values, and strategic priorities by implanting the principles of Aggressive Hospitality in the areas of :
. Courteous and professional wine service
. Sales and revenue skills orientation
. training assistance for new crew members
. safe professional and personal practices
. Congeniality and teamwork.
In carrying out these responsibilities, the Sommelier undertakes duties in the four areas of the professional performance score card:
. Technical
. Safety
. Silver Service
. Social
The duties in each of these performance areas are detailed below. Theses duties are undertaken within company policies, standards, and operating manuals.
Technical duties
1. Provide courteous and professional wine and beverage service
2. Sales and revenue oriented. Promotes Connoisseur and Epicurean wine lists
3. Maintains control of the wine station inventory and consumption
4. Minimizes breakages
5. Responsible for the requisitions of the wine cellar
6. Tea time service
7. Carry out embarkation and debarkation duties.
8. Clean and maintain area and equipment according to USPH standards.
9. Careful use of ship equipment and reporting of faulty or broken equipment.
10. Assist managers with training and induction of new personnel
11. Undertake all other duties as requested by supervisor.
Safety duties
12. Carry out designated role in crew and passenger safety drills according to regulations.
13. Comply with the Company's safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
Silver Service
duties
14. Complete the Silver Service CD-room program.
Incorporate Silver Service standards of behavior into your work in the areas of:

c. Clean uniform and tidy appearance at all times

15. Maintain positive relationships with colleagues.

Utbildning/Erfarenhet
1. Extensive bar service experience in 5 star operation
2. Excellent wine knowledge
3. Good knowledge of American bar service
