The mobility industry is changing rapidly, and the competitive environment and our company’s strategy are under fast change. In this landscape, Volvo Cars are growing our global footprint. We are building a brand-new electric-only manufacturing plant in Slovakia, to reach our ambitious target to become a fully electric mobility company by 2030. This position will be part of our Global Indirect Procurement Department which together with our stakeholders, represents the entire company and drives the transformation of our company.

We will grow our team in all areas and segments, covering:

•    Investments: Machinery & Tooling, Construction, Electrification Test Equipment
•    Services: Digital, Consultants, Energy & Utilities, Facility, and Corporate related services
•    Logistics: Inbound & Outbound logistics, Intercontinental flows, Packaging & warehousing

We are looking for very experienced procurement specialists as well as you who have less experience but come with a business mindset together with the right drive, ambition, and attitude. Ultimately, it's all about collaborating to create a superior experience for the people who buy and drive a Volvo, as well as our internal organization. 

Your key tasks

-    Lead and support cross-functional sourcing projects including preparation, execution, analysis, negotiation, supplier selection, and contract management
-    Develop and implement category- and supplier strategies
-    Create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders
-    Work proactively with key business stakeholders to understand your product/service, its market, supply base, and potential innovation to find ways to increase value for Volvo Cars - including cost, quality, and sustainability
-    Dare to question status quo or decided routes with stakeholders, suppliers, and people; and work proactively to build a better understanding and work towards common solutions
-    There will be some need for global business travel.

You enjoy working in a team and you like to have fun at work. Complex environments are something you thrive in, where you skillfully balance the interests of many while not losing focus on deliveries. You love creating from scratch and prefer to throw yourself in rather than sit and wait for your turn. You plan, prioritize and structure your work to achieve goals.
You have experience in doing business in an international environment with global suppliers, where strong business acumen is a prerequisite 
You have a university degree or equivalent experience, and automotive experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
