Sourcing Buyer
Come and join us at Volvo Buses – we are now hiring a Sourcing Buyer for the Sourcing & Platform Department, located in Wroclaw (PL) or in Gothenburg (SE).
As part of Sourcing & Platform you will be working with a global team of buyers, located in Sweden, Poland, Canada and Mexico. We are responsible for the sourcing of parts and systems for future generations of public transport solutions produced at Volvo Buses plants in Europe and the Americas. Together with us you will secure best-in-class sourcing strategies for each commodity and help generate the best possible result for the team, the company and our society.
Your role
Working in this position you will be responsible for mainly Glass systems, Articulation systems and Fire suppression systems for Europe.
As Sourcing buyer you have the responsibility to establish sourcing strategies for your commodities in cooperation with other buyers, purchasing project managers, supplier quality department, product development and our manufacturing plants. This would require domestic and international travel for internal and supplier meetings and the full responsibility of management of the supplier relationships within your commodity.
You will also be responsible for supplier selection, contract negotiation and implementation, appropriate supplier relationship management, supplier development, supplier partnerships while ensuring a strong key stakeholder process on a regional level. Your work would be in line with the Volvo Way and Volvo Group corporate values.

For this position we are looking for candidates with a University degree in Business and/or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing or sales.
