Sourcing Category Manager

ValueOne is looking for a Sourcing Category Manager for an assignment at our customer in northern Stockholm. The assignment must be filled as soon as possible and is expected to run for six months. For the right candidate there is a strong possibility of being offered a permanent position after completed assignment.

The role

In the role as Sourcing Category Manager, you are expected to drive the category strategy and related projects with the help of internal users and external suppliers. You will be the owner of relevant categories (polymere and metals) and have responsibility for the category strategy development and deployment in EMEA.

Main tasks:

Follow category market trends and make the supplier selection best suited for long term category Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) development and risk levers.
Identify, research, evaluate and select suppliers and lead negotiations for relevant categories and put contract terms and conditions in place.
Assess supplier’s products to ensure they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards.
Conduct dedicated category wave projects in accordance with the company’s Category Management and project process.
Implement and follow-up Value engineering and Value analysis cost out projects.

Experience and competencies:

The assignment requires a university degree in supply chain, economics or equivalent and at least 7 years of experience from a similar position. You must also be able to travel, both locally and abroad. Experience from working in IFS ERP system is meritorious. Fluency in English is a must. Fluency in Swedish is advantageous.

You are an experienced category manager within Metals, knowledgeable in developing category strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management. You are proficient in organizing, analyzing, and reporting financial data with solid grounding in basic procurement and financial processes and systems. From your earlier experience you have gained knowledge in global supply chain and have strong procurement and project management skills. You can work independently but also as part of a team.

We are looking for a self-starter who are commercially driven. You are a skilled negotiator, with good communication abilities. This position requires strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. You have excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
