Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.


Who we are


Purchasing team, who purchases parts, components, automotive fluids and process materials used in Scania trucks and buses manufactured in our global production system. We are working in an international environment and collaborating with our colleagues in the Volkswagen and Traton Group. Therefore we are searching for a sourcing manager, who is committed, collaborative team member and has the desire to drive the shift together with our team.

Our Purchasing team has great people, an open atmosphere, good knowledge transfer, and always helps each other out. The group consists of purchasers with different backgrounds, nationalities, genders, and experiences. We enjoy solving problems both within the team and with our cross-functions and always try to find the best solutions for Scania. We feel motivated by delivering on and beyond our commitments and want to be seen as a reliable partner. We strive for a climate where opinions and knowledge is openly shared within the team and learning is continuous. 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible sourcing manager for factory-filled liquids to the right quality, delivery time and costs and last but not least sustainability.

As a sourcing manager for factory-filled liquids you will work in close cooperation together with purchasers in SW (spare parts) and SA (general purchasing) as well as purchasing colleges in Brazil and later on China. Beside close contact with our suppliers you will also work together with R&D, S&M, P&L and many other internal functions. In the Traton group you will cooperate mainly with MAN but also with all the other VW brands in specific fluids forums.

Your purchase responsibility is both global sourcing of liquids but also project sourcing. You work together with R&D and S&M to reach common goals for existing products and in product development projects you work with R&D and P&L as well as our suppliers to develop new products to the right level of technology and cost, with a focus on sustainability.

In your daily work you will,


• plan and perform tenders to challenge and develop our supplier base on oil, diesel, coolant and several other liquids and some gases filled in our trucks and used at R&D, this task in close cooperation with SW but also with SA
• negotiate, propose and nominate business to suppliers on Scania decision forums
• cooperate with the other brands within the Traton Group to find the best synergies for liquids
• take lead in implementing the global supplier base to support localization in China

Your profile

You are a person who likes to take the lead in working with others. You are proactive, structured, organized, flexible, take your own initiatives, are able to handle multiple open cases, have a strong commercial interest, and like to work with supplier relationship management and succeed in negotiations. You also have a strong technical and production process knowledge. You have at least 3 years of purchasing experience, are ready to take on a more complex role with a strategic mindset, and share your knowledge with others. As the role involves a large international network, you are fluent in writing and speaking English. You like to work with cross functions and represent Purchasing in a way where we are a respected partner which delivers as promised and according to targets in a professional way. Your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally and cross-functionally, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate and build trust and are clear in your communication with others. You should have high integrity with good judgment and can adapt to work according to Scania’s company culture.
