Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Are you looking for a new challenge and want to be part of a team that continuously strive to improve and develop our global supply chain, then this might be the position for you. The team consist of nine Purchasers and you will take on the responsibility as Sourcing Manager for our Overseas segment.

At Logistics Purchasing we are commercially responsible for all flows going in to and out from Scania, including needed packaging material. Regardless of modality; train, road, sea or air we take pride in delivering commercially competitive solutions still with high focus on both Sustainability and Quality.

 

Your Tasks. 

As a Sourcing Manager for Overseas you will be commercially responsible for the global Scania flows shipped by sea and you will be managing a large and complex area that will challenge you in many ways. As Scania grows the challenges at this position will continue to come.

You will develop and follow through on long term strategies for your segment to:


• Tender and negotiate the most commercially competitive solutions on the market
• Provide solutions with the highest level of quality to our customers
• Enable Scania to reach our CO2 targets and commitment to driving the shift towards more sustainable transport solutions

Being the commercial owner of your segment and supplier base you will be the main point of contact for many internal and external activities. In your daily work you will be in charge of and managing all commercial topics, including e.g. large tenders, contract management and supplier development. You will be working together with both internal and external partners to continuously optimize our Overseas business.

The position offers a global environment and you’re social network will include a variety of people from different cultures, both internally and externally. The work is often also in close collaboration with internal cross functions as well as our Purchasing colleagues within the Volkswagen group.

 

Your Profile

We look for you who enjoys doing business, has a strong commitment and who works well both alone and in teams. You are professional, calm and creative and you possess the ability to see the bigger picture, often finding win-win solutions to challenges you face. You switch between different topics and surroundings with ease and enjoy having a large and global professional network.

Your main area of competence lies in business and negotiation. You have a good understanding of contract management and can evaluate risks/ opportunities in legal frameworks. You feel comfortable with setting strategies and taking responsibilities for your own business area and enjoy a mix of long and mid-to short term activities.

The position requires several years of professional experience in commercial roles, strategic business development and/or project management. Having a global network, You should be prepared to travel (when safe again) as well as be fluent in English, written as well as spoken.
