Role description

We now seek an experienced Sourcing Manager to join our team and to take on the purchasing responsibility for Services related to our strategically important function Communications at Scania. You will be responsible for leading and further developing the category and continuously improving the current way of working cross-functionally with our internal stakeholders.

As a Sourcing Manager within General Purchasing, you will work in close cooperation with internal cross functions as well as our purchasing colleagues within the VW group. You will lead supplier negotiations, present results to decision boards, and conclude commercial agreements to create the best value for Scania. It also requires active participation in aligning the company’s needs across multiple functions in order to cooperate and drive the tender processes.

Your main task will be to;


• Drive, coordinate and implement strategic sourcing activities within your area of responsibility to manage the demands, secure competitiveness and delivery.
• Investigate and develop improvement activities to improve delivery, increase competition and boost competitiveness.
• Prepare and execute presentations for Scania’s sourcing boards and actively develop existing and future suppliers in keeping with Scania’s high standards.

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with a creative, commercial drive, and strategic mindset. You are a graduate with a few years of professional experience as a purchaser and are able to work both independently and within a team.

You are well organized, enjoy a fast tempo, and can manage short-term actions without losing focus on achieving long-term objectives. You are a driven team player along with being able to establish good relations, and collaboration, with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

We believe that you have previous experience in Purchasing or from a related business area as well as a university degree. If you have previous experience from purchase of Communication Services, Exhibitions or Events it is a strong merit.

The role involves a wide network of contacts, both internally and externally so you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English. The office is located in Södertälje.
