We now seek a Sourcing Manager to take on the purchasing responsibility of industrial chemicals at Scania.

Role description

As a Sourcing Manager for industrial chemicals within General Purchasing you will work in close cooperation with internal cross functions as well as our purchasing colleagues within the VW group.

As responsible for industrial chemicals you will:


• Drive, coordinate and implement sourcing activities within your segment.
• Handle new chemical imports within Industrial operations, maintain and challenge alternative products for tests and operational use.
• Investigate and develop improvement activities with the current supplier base to increase competition and boost supplier competitiveness.

Your main task will be creating strategic sourcing plans and activities to manage the demands, secure competitiveness, delivery precision and total cost of your product range. You will also be an active part in cross functional forums securing optimal flows and a wider understanding of the area, mitigate risks and avoid deviations in our operational units, production and deliveries. You will be preparing and executing presentations for Scania’s sourcing boards and actively developing existing and future suppliers in keeping with Scania’s high standards.

Your profile

We are looking for candidates who are professional, structured and result-oriented. You are a graduate engineer or industrial economist with a few years professional experience as a purchaser, and are able to work both independently and within a team.

You are well organised, enjoy a fast tempo and can manage short term actions without losing focus on achieving long term objectives. You are a driven team player, have a commercial mindset, strong negotiation skills along with being able to establish good relations, and collaboration, with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The role requires a good understanding of complex flows and ability to challenge and find new ways to work and optimize these flows. A technical understanding and interest, preferable within industrial chemicals and fluids, and previous experience and knowledge of chemical purchases and experience from global business is a merit.

The role involves a wide network of contacts, both internally and externally so you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English. The office is located in Södertälje.
