Sourcing Manager Mechanics

About the job

We are on the lookout for a Sourcing Manager Mechanics to join our dynamic soucing team. In this role you will develop and implement business continuity plans for critical materials and suppliers, have sourcing and supplier responsibility within the Global Sourcing Team Mechanics. You will also lead and manage various RFx from start to finish, which includes creation, issuance, and facilitation of the entire process, through supplier evaluations, supplier selection and implementation.

The position is based in Kista, Sweden.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for defined categories and suppliers within the mechanics area, such as:
- Aluminium, extrusion & diecasting, sheet metal, plastic injection moulding, packaging etc.
- Responsible for providing knowledge and services to strategic sourcing team in close interaction with suppliers as well as internal teams, projects, and stakeholders
- Drive continuous cost, quality, and supply improvements
- Responsible to keep supplier information updated in systems and documentation
- Continuously work with suppliers to develop and implement supply and cost strategies that support released products as well as in new product development
- Manage sourcing documentation, agreements, and related systems
- Manage sourcing projects and lead contract negotiations that optimize value to Polarium
- Integrate in product development activities with R&D, Project Managers etc. to proactively assure parts availability, identify lead-time requirements, and manage contractual obligation


Qualification and experience:

- 5 years’ experience from sourcing of mechanical commodities in a manufacturing environment
- Expert skills and experience reading engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
- Experience from sourcing or procurement of direct material for manufacturing in a global supplier base environment
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience from Asian and China supplier market.
- Knowledge from agile development
