The team and me
We are a team consisting of twelve team members with a mix of age, gender and nationalities with experience both within Scania and Purchasing. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting each other when problems and deviations occur in order to find the best solutions for Scania. We strive for a climate where opinions and competence are openly shared within the team and competence continuously improves.
Who am I as your future manager?
What drives me as a leader is the desire to both develop the responsible area but also the team members working there in a balanced and efficient way. I have more than 10 years of leadership experience both outside and inside Scania. I like to mix new approaches with strategic focus areas were work balance is the red thread to achieve our long term goals.
As a manager, I think it is especially important that my teams feel confident in being able to run their tasks under their own responsibility but always be able to get coaching and support from me if needed. We will succeed as a team together.
Main Mission
In your role as a sourcing manager you will work cross functional and in close cooperation with Scania’s Power Solutions research & development department, purchasing quality departments as well as other purchasing commodity teams within Scania. You are also responsible for creating business plan activities and deliver on those to ensure we reach our team and department targets.
Currently there is a strong focus on future exciting projects for our contribution in Scania´s sustainable shift and you will play an important role in these together with our cross functions.
You will also take part in the 3-ring collaboration across purchasing. The 3-ring consists of colleagues from the Truck commodity, project and quality teams.
Your profile
We see it is beneficial with interest in the commercial and/or technical side but with a clear passion for doing business. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple things at the same time.
You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing in cross functions as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team.
We expect you to have an academic degree in industrial engineering, business or similar. Beneficial is also if you have experience from another sourcing manager role within the Purchasing area, or another relevant background.
As the role involves communication with global suppliers, you are fluent in English, and preferably also in Swedish. Important is that you are a true team player with a passion to improve how things can be done. You dare to challenge and think beyond the normal situation in order to foresee future customer needs.
What we offer
You will learn how to deepen and develop your intercultural communications skills as we operate worldwide combined with knowledge of many new business areas. Business travel will occur with 10 days per year and we offer a modern way of working in a new flexible activity based office combined with working from home. Working together with other people, suppliers, markets and cultures will be a part of your daily business. Employees are our most important resource, we believe in training our employees and giving them the opportunity to broaden their skills in order to be able to grow with us.
