Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Are you attracted to the prospect of working as a purchaser in a dynamic, commercial and international environment with a high tempo? Do you have the ability to quickly adapt to new conditions with a solution oriented mindset? If the answer is yes - I encourage you to apply for this position and get the chance to join our skilled and diverse team within Project Purchasing Electronics.
What do we do?
As the Scania product portfolio expands within electrified and autonomous transport solutions, the development and sourcing of electronic components and cable harnesses to Scania products require a higher pace than before. To manage the new requirements we have to transform our way of working both cross-functionally and with our suppliers. We at Project Purchasing Electronics are highly involved to ensure that we are able to meet the introduction deadlines of our new projects with the best business case for Scania.
Your responsibilities
As a Project Sourcing Manager you will be working closely together with our suppliers and R&D, but also with many other internal functions, to reach common goals in the running product development projects. You are responsible to plan and perform sourcing activities in order to achieve project targets with regards to technology, quality, delivery, cost and sustainability.
Within Purchasing you will work closely with our sister group in Commodity Purchasing, who are responsible for purchasing of parts in serial production, as well as with Supplier Quality, to develop and execute material group and supplier strategies.
In your daily work you will negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, coordinate and align activities closely with cross-functions, propose and nominate new business to suppliers on Scania decision forums and then work closely with the suppliers throughout the implementation in production. You will take lead in managing and negotiation design changes after nomination to secure the right cost level for project introductions to keep Scania competitive in a disruptive market environment.
Who am I?
As a leader for this team, I put focus on being present and available to guide and coach the co-workers in the different challenges we are facing. For me team spirit and to have fun at work is a high priority, since I believe that a strong team creates better decision making, a supporting culture and improves the creativity. I work with encouragement and feedback and am humble to the fact that the purchasers in my team are the specialists, while my aim is to set the direction and remove obstacles to enable them to perform and deliver a great result.
Who are you?
You are probably driven, well-structured and proactive, act flexibly with a focus on the end result and enjoy the challenge of handling multiple projects and tasks at the same time. You have a strong commercial interest, enjoy doing business, negotiate and to find solutions to complex problems or situations where the options are limited. In the team we are continuously working with improvements so we hope you have an ability to think in new ways and find new solutions to old problems.
You have at least 2-3 years of purchasing experience and in order to succeed in the role it is important that you are clear in your communication and are able to collaborate well with others. Since the role involves a large international network and the language in the team is English, you are fluent in writing and speaking English. While technical knowledge about electronic components and cable harness is a merit it is no requirement, however that you have a technical interest is a must.
