Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
My sourcing manager for cast iron engine parts will go on maternity leave and therefore I need to hire You to be part of the Commodity castings team and join our growth within both traditional segments and Scania’s extensive, future focus areas.
The task
As Sourcing Manager in this position you will be responsible for all cast iron parts on the engine including some strategically important material groups which involves extensive contact both inside and outside Scania. Within your commercial area you will make new deals with both short- and long-term perspective. Certain administrative tasks such as contracts and order issuing connected to your negotiations and sourcings will be done with the support of our Commodity buyer. You will be responsible for a 3-ring and coordinate the strategic work that is done in cooperation with MAN, Scania R&D, Project Purchasing, SQAs, Scania and MAN Latin America and Navistar via VW joint venture.
The team
Castings has a great team spirit, very good knowledge transfer and a lot of fun together most likely thanks to our variation in responsibilities and individuals. We are part of the Powertrain and Chassis department and currently consist of nine purchasers in an interesting diversity – a mix of gender, experience and nationalities. We are responsible for the procurement of all parts in cast iron and aluminium. Our responsibility is continually growing with parts for future powertrains and vehicles.
Me – the recruiting manager
I am 47 years old and have worked at Scania Purchasing for nine years in four different positions. Before Scania I have worked within several banks and also at Stockholm Stad Environment and Health Administration. My interest in technology, business and environment is solid and this is why I like Purchasing and Scania so much. I love watching people around me grow and actively participate in their development and an open atmosphere and real dialogue are cornerstones in my leadership.
You
I am looking for a passionate and educated professional with a solid commercial interest and experience. You will be responsible for planning and holding negotiations independently. You need proven skills from presenting cases in decision forums and feel confident doing that. You will be taking part in activities versus many highly qualified foundries and the ability to adapt and organize is essential. The pace is often high and challenging but very rewarding. Flexibility is a need but that also goes for Scania offering possibilities to grow in the profession while keeping an active private and family life. Success in this position takes commitment, focus, analytical skills and strategic thinking. The energy we will fill you with!
