 Scania is looking for an experienced Sourcing Manager to join our Purchasing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, at one of the most successful transport companies in the world.

Commercial Operations within purchasing was established to accelerate the integration of purchasing activities within Scania´s worldwide sales and service organisation. The department is continuously developing new ways of working and can offer a very challenging and entrepreneurial environment. One of our main tasks is to leverage volumes and spend across countries and Business Units. 

The tasks ahead of us is ambitious with tough goals of lead time reductions, savings and value creation to be achieved by bundling volumes, standardization between different countries, synergise between Scania product and supplier product and at the same time improve service to our customers. We are now looking for a Sourcing Manager to join our Central team in Södertälje.

 

The team

Half of the colleagues in the team are focused on commodities for the global service network e.g. workshop equipment, IS/IT, Travel and building equipment. The other half is working within the Truck superstructure area.

 

The job

Working as a strategic purchaser you will be responsible for the development and implementation of purchasing activities throughout Scania and our Business Units. The very interesting procurement area, Truck Superstructure, that you will be working with has large potential in many aspects and high attention of progress. To clarify – Truck Superstructure is the body build onto the chassis to give the truck its function e.g. a box, a tipper, a crane or a refuse collector.

In this role you will come up with your own sourcing activities by analysing data and have close dialogue with local purchasers and internal customers in order to understand what is needed and where most leverage can be found. You will negotiate commercial agreement and also be responsible for supplier quality, service and cost development. You will also be part of challenging and developing the way Scania works with superstructure in the supply chain.

 

Your profile

We are looking for a team player who is commercial, creative and result oriented with a high level of initiative and self-motivation. You are a positive and service minded person that enjoys varied tasks. Another important quality for achieving success in this role is the ability to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts, why you need to be fluent in both written and spoken English. Swedish is meritorious since several large suppliers are located in Sweden. Experience of superstructure and technical knowledge is meritorious but not an absolute demand. Preferably you have a university degree and +3 years of commercial experience.

 

The work requires travelling to some extent.
