Sheraton Stockholm Hotel, located in the heart of Stockholm City is with its 465 guest rooms, restaurant, bar and conference facilities for up to 700 guests, one of Stockholm?s largest international first class hotels. Sheraton Stockholm is a place where high expectations aren't just met-they're exceeded.
We are now looking for a new member to join our kitchen team in the position of a Sous Chef. If you are a creative, flexible and responsible chef with previous leadership experience within the upscale hotel- or catering industry, this might be just the right position for you.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities
- Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments
- Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
- Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to set standards
- Plan, coordinate & implement special events functions
- Manage kitchen associates through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
- Maintaining approved food costs and labor costs
- May manage other key culinary leadership rolls including supervisor and other less senior Sous Chefs
- Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and associate satisfaction results
- Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team and work with minimal supervision.
- Ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training.
- Direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed.
Main Requirements:
- In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations, knows well how to prioritize and organize.
- Culinary education and/or on the job training, upscale hotel- or catering experience a requirement
- Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
- Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service
- Expertise in Food Cost contr
- A true desire to understand guest needs and exceed guest expectations
- Passion to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
- Strong training and communication skills
- Schedule flexibility preferred
- Should further be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment and able to follow directions thoroughly.
