SP Process Development is looking for three senior organic chemists and a senior chemical engineer to strengthen our team of process chemists and process engineers for applied process research and manufacture of, e.g., chemicals, drug substances and new materials.
SP Process Development, located in Södertälje, is a subsidiary institute of SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden. Our research and innovation is about applied chemical and pharmaceutical process development. We perform R&D from early proof of concept to scale up verification. We have recently expanded our capabilities with new facilities for process demonstration and small scale manufacture of chemicals and pharmaceutical drug products. We are searching for enthusiastic and ambitious colleagues to strengthen our team.
In your role you will lead and perform chemical process research and development to support both open research projects as well as customer specific projects. We specialize in the areas of process intensification, catalysis, pharmaceutical development, scale-up of chemical processes, manufacture (up 100 L in-house) including GMP manufacture, continuous chemical processing, process simulation and modeling, crystallization and other unit operations, e.g., distillation, extraction etc.
Your responsibilities will consist of hands-on laboratory work and manufacturing as well as project management, knowledge and tech transfer, writing of customer reports, regulatory documents and scientific reports. You will also be part of writing grant applications and quotations for customers.
SP Process Development offers a flexible and dynamic working environment with the possibility to strengthen your experience and knowledge of several process research areas and industrial sectors. Collaboration with external academic and industrial partners is an important aspect of the job. You are encouraged to initiate contacts with commercial and academic partners, and establish new research collaborations.
To be a successful candidate you will have an academic degree within organic chemistry or another relevant chemical science area. Preferably, you have more than 3 years of experience from process development, scale-up of chemical processes and manufacture of chemical entities in an industrial setting.
You are a curious, creative, and open minded person. You are not afraid to take initiative and you are enthusiastic to work in a laboratory environment. Collaboration and team work is your preferred way of working. You must speak and write English fluently.
