We, your closest colleagues, are 9 highly dedicated and proud employees in all different ages responsible for Parts Planning & Information. We are also a part of Parts & Service Engineering at Global Parts & Services. All of us are working independently with different areas of expertise and assignments but always with a team spirit and quality in focus. We are working closely together with colleagues within different department at Volvo Penta as well. All our efforts strive to give our customers the right product, with the right qualities. This is how you will make an impact
As a Spare Parts Engineer at Volvo Penta your main responsibility will be to secure that the parts range is optimized from a customer as well as a technical point of view. Your responsibility is spare parts planning, where you will decide spare part judgement based of design changes in our spare part tool GLOPPS and initiate that information about changes for your product range are given to the markets. We also perform some software time setting.
You will also perform technical investigation from a Spare Parts Engineer perspective and participate in phase out of our product/part. Furthermore, you will discuss questions with colleagues and help and guide them around technical matters. As spare parts engineer you will be our representative in product development project within area of expertise. Therefor you will also be planning projects and provide estimation of resources needed upon request from project or line manager. Finally, an important part of the job is to inform and communicate with other functions and processes about information that is important for SPE responsibility area and provide back-office support for customer questions related to our spare part offer.
A match between the repair methods and spare part assortment is highly important. Therefore, you will work close with repair engineer (that creates the methods) as well as design department (who creates the product changes). We work according to structured processes in order to create the best quality.

Since you will be helping colleagues and customers, we see that you have good cooperating and communication skills and that you are a customer- and quality-oriented person. It is needed to possess good knowledge in both Swedish and English, spoken and written. Secondly, you describe yourself as a structured person with a holistic view, an eye for details and ability to see thing from different perspectives. Your power of initiative should be high with an ability to plan and perform your work independently.
Finally, you will work in several computer systems simultaneously and you need to keep focus on the task. The work covers looking at 3D models, drawings and base a decision on what you see. Therefor good technical knowledge and experience in working with technical documentation and drawings is needed. We also believe that if you are the right person for the job, you have an interest in our product range and passion to strive for continuously improvements in order to drive changes.
