Special Investigation Officer

You will be part of the Special Investigations Office which is part of the Legal and Integrity Function. The position is located in Västerås.

Tasks
The ABB Special Investigation Officer will work in a coordinated effort with other ABB Special Investigation Officers, the Legal Counsel Integrity, the OSI Integrity Operations Analyst, and the ABB Legal and Integrity Group in delivering a wide-range of investigation support on all aspects of conducting investigations at ABB.

In support of OSI goals and objectives, the Special Investigation Officer provides a high level of experience, expertise, guidance, and leadership relative to company-wide, multi-jurisdictional, complex investigations which may significantly impact employees, business operations, and company reputation. The Special Investigation Officer may exercise significant independent judgment and decisions regarding issues of a complex nature affecting specific company business operations and processes. May work independently and may authorize immediate action in unique and critical situations. May direct and manage the work of others to include internal and external resources; multi-functional investigation teams; law enforcement, and other external parties that may be involved in the investigation process.

The Special Investigation Officer, under the authorization of the Region Head , OSI, independently conducts investigations ?in the field? during active investigations, to include interview preparation, research, analysis, interviews of complainants, witnesses, victims and subjects, report writing and other duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisory.

Requirements

- At least 5-10 years experience in investigations gained through law enforcement or corporate investigations background

- Absolute fluency in written and spoken English, additional languages an asset

- 60% travel will be required and flexibility to travel at short notice

- Hi degree IT literacy

To be successful in this role you also need to have a strong personal character and be a team player with a sense of determination, independence and courage. You contribute with the ability to produce clear, factual and concise briefing summaries and detailed reports as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities and carry out briefings to management as required. Further, you know how to solve problems through sophisticated analysis and identify emerging patterns. Intercultural sensitivity and the capacity to handle complex and sensitive subjects are other qualities of yours.
