We are looking for an innovative material scientist with experience in induction heating to be our next:
Senior Material and Heat Treatment Specialist with focus Induction heat treatment
In the Manufacturing Process Development (MPD) department we are designing and realizing the future manufacturing for SKF. We are working with technologies such as forming, heat treatment, machining, automation and digitalization. This means that we are supporting the organization to deliver the right product, to the right price at the right time.
Your day-to-day work
Industrialization of new heat treatment concepts for steel as well as developing and optimizing existing equipment and processes/technologies. Main focus will be heat treatment processes involving induction heating.
• Technical support in the organization for process and product development as well as purchasing processes in relation to steel and heat treatment/induction heat treatment.
• Actively participating in tests and analyses in projects and activities related to induction heat treatment; sometimes also leading them.
• Maintain good cooperation with external partners such as e.g. suppliers, academia etc.
• Stay in the forefront of technical development and know-how, and to make sure this knowledge is spread within the organization.
• Actively giving input to and develop strategies and road maps within induction heat treatment and make sure these are up to date.
We expect you to have/be
Master’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or similar; preferably with focus in Material Science, or Bachelor’s degree according to above with several years working experience in induction heat treatment.
• Applied experience from optimizing and designing induction heat treatment processes, where experience from tool design and/or NC control is considered an advantage.
• Fluent in English in both writing and speaking.
• Willingness to travel (also international).
It would be beneficial if you also had experience in project management with well-developed methodical skills, efficient communication and dedication to reach set tasks.

This role is in Gothenburg, Sweden and reports to the Manager of Steel, Forming, Heat Treatment & NDT, who is located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
