Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading world manufacturer of high-value-added products in stainless material, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials and process systems.Product Areas include Tube, Strip, Wire and Heating Technology, Process Systems and MedTech.We are now looking for a specialist in Standardization of Powder Technology for our Quality and Product Assurance Unit within R&D, located in Sandviken. The unit bears overall SMT responsibility and consists of specialists who support SMT product areas and sales in the fields of product data, product standardization, pressure vessel approvals and product ecology.In order to strengthen the strategic work of product standardization for both existing and new product areas, we are now looking for two standardization specialists, one of whom will be specially focused powder technology products. Tasks Tasks for this standardization specialist primarily consist of: - Establishing the need for the standardization of powder metallurgy (PM) products such as pressure vessels approvals etc.- Initiating and running the projects necessary to establish standardization material within PM - On behalf of SMT, manage contacts with other standardization organizations, as well as participating in negotiations and meetings with standardization committees within PM - Disseminating information about standardization and product approval within the PM field - Coordinating standardization activities within the Powder Metallurgy product area and the Powder Metallurgy Department within R&D In addition, this position encompasses work with standardization and product approval issues within other product areas.Your profile You have a degree in metallurgy or equivalent experience gained in some other manner.Knowledge of SMT products and applications, especially within powder metallurgy, is an advantage.Alternatively you have a background within materials accreditation with experience of NORSOK, ASTM or similar standards.Experience of standardization operations plus work within technical marketing is desirable as is an interest in committee work, negotiations and lobbying.As this position includes extensive international contacts, extremely high levels of English are necessary.As an individual, you are goal-aware, structured, flexible and creative with a well-developed ability to see the big picture.You are highly motivated and enjoy learning new things.You have a talent for cooperation and are a good communicator as the position requires regular discussions with both internal and external contacts.
