Your future team

Our team is developing the thermal management solution for the Volvo Group future and current batteries. We are a growing team working with cutting-edge technologies to take thermal management to the level needed for the future.

Thermal management is key for sustainable and Long Life batteries for the electrification for Volvo Group. The opportunities are endless, and that is why we are now looking for a Thermal System Engineer. You will be part of a global team of Thermal Management engineers within the Energy Storage System (ESS) where all of us strive for creativity, analytical thinking, innovation capability, and the ability to apply knowledge in everything we do.

Here, you will lead and drive the technical development and develop system solutions according to the targets for battery and thermal systems and components – both in early and later phases. You will support the Advanced Engineering roadmap and strategies, as well as defining and follow-up requirements. With your problem-solving mindset, you make technical recommendations and develop technical solutions for us to reach even higher than we did yesterday. Together with your team, you will be able to paint the bigger picture, identify the objectives, and set priorities while coordinating work with other departments and external suppliers. 

We are looking for you… 
… who are passionate about engineering. You are a team player who brings your strong analytical mindset to the table, with expertise in the analysis and design of cooling systems. You have strong engineering and scientific judgment and want to work hands-on when approaching technology. You are also a networker who likes to build contacts and lead the work with counterparts in the cross-functional organization. You want to work in an inspiring environment with your kind and skilled colleagues and develop your professional and individual skills in the long term. 

Requirements
•    Min. 5 years of work experience in development of cooling and thermal management systems for vehicles and machines. 
•    Experience in thermal management system requirement specification and verification.
•    Knowledge within Energy Storage System and battery pack, or thermal testing, measurements methods, and heat transfer simulations.  
•    Knowledge of thermal management system control functions.
•    Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering or similar.
