Volvo Cars has just launched the next generation infotainment system that is based on Android Automotive, with close collaboration with Google. We are now looking for a technical speech expert to strengthen our organization.

You will work with a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, product owners and others to both enhance our existing functions and build new product features. You will innovate and prototype new features, evaluate which features are mostly used by our customers and continuously make them better. As a speech expert, you will participate in technical discussion with other development teams that work with related areas and with our main collaboration partners outside of Volvo Cars. You have previous development experience so you can understand, implement and try-out new things in our Android platform and if needed, write CI-test to validate e.g. speech performance or system accuracy.  You are not afraid of taking new contacts to drive system related questions within our organization since the audio chain in a vehicle involves several teams and several SW and HW components.

Required qualifications / skills:
* PhD or M.Sc in speech technology, natural language processing, or a related field
* 5+ years industry experience with speech technology (e.g., dialog systems, speech recognition, user interactions, etc.)
* Experience from speech systems in combination with audio processing.
* Experienced with acoustic modeling, language modeling, strong linguistic background and an analytical mindset.
* Good understanding or hands on experience of speech preprocessing, noise-cancellations, speech related techniques 
* Publications or other relevant speech projects.
* A personal drive to keep up with the competence area by attending conferences, both as speaker and as a guest.
* Good English skill (written and spoken)
