Trading and Asset Optimisation (TAO) organisation optimises the best price for electricity production and consumption and hedges earnings from these operations with commodity derivatives far into the future. About 95 TWh of physical electricity trading and about 200 TWh of trading in commodity derivatives pass through TAO each year. We operate in several commodity exchanges such as Nasdaq Commodities and ICE, as well as physical electricity markets, Nord Pool and TGE (Polish Power Exchange). We also operate Fortum’s hydro plants to enable total optimisation of our hydro fleet in the volatile energy market. In-depth understanding of the electricity business and market knowledge are an essential part of TAO's business. In addition, TAO Ventures pilots new start-ups such as Fortum Spring.
Your role
We are looking for a Spot Trader to join our Customer Balance Management team in Physical Trading unit within the Trading and Asset Optimization (TAO) business area at Solna United in Stockholm area. Customer Balance Management team is responsible for forecasting consumption and buying power for our B2B and B2C customers from Nord Pool as well as selling our own and our customer's renewable production. At Customer Balance Management we also trade ancillary service products towards our system operators. You will be part of a team where operative tasks are combined with development of tools and processes.

Your qualifications
We expect you to have a Master's degree in a relevant field together with a passion for electricity trading. You can be recently graduated or you have few years of experience from the energy sector. In order to succeed in this position you need to have strong analytical thinking, trading and a constant hunger for growing and learning new things. Interest or knowledge in AI and regression analysis is a plus. In addition to this you work well under stress and as we are a pan-Nordic team both written and spoken English is a prerequisite. It is an advantage if you master one of the Nordic languages as well.
