Future Retail & Assisted Shopping (FRAS) cluster supports the interaction between customers and retailers.

You will be involved in kick-starting a new greenfield initiative which aims to integrate multiple full-stack retailer tools under one roof using micro-frontend architecture. The key components of this architecture are authentication, role management and inter-service communication using REST, Kafka, gRPC and GraphQL.

You get to be part of the journey from the start, shaping a product and making an impact. As we need to integrate with services from different teams in Volvo Cars, you will grow your network and get to work with many teams and stakeholders.

You and your skills
To be effective in this role, you need to take charge and be a be good at collaboration. You should be able to build and create commitment. It is important that you have integrity and a change management mind-set.

Responsibilities
* Design and build the architecture that connects different services together to create a seamless retailer user experience.
* Develop and maintain high quality Go services
* Build Volvo Cars Go open-source presence.
* Facilitate the development of Go standards, practices, and education
* Assist recruitment and growing the team as our needs grow


Requirements
* B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
* Solid understanding of Go, including common tools and best practices.
* Experience building user facing products with a focus on user needs and user experience.
* Respect for code quality, including testing, code review, and documentation.
* Experience measuring and optimizing delivery metrics (eg. DORA) as well as reliability metrics (SLI/SLO)
* Good cross-team collaboration and async communication skills.


Desired
* Experience with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
* Experience with micro-frontend architecture and distributed software architectures
* Experience with modern development toolsets and cloud native best practices.
* Experience and knowledge of any of the following tools and technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, ArgoCD, Backstage, Github Actions, ELK stack, Prometeus, Grafana
* Familiarity with Java or C# and Javascript
