What do we offer?
Volvo Cars is in the process of developing and industrializing the future propulsion systems based on HV battery and Electric Drive Units.
ME Propulsion Components, is a section within Manufacturing Engineering. We develop and implement quality assured, flexible, and effective production systems in our plants worldwide.
We are working cross functionally and project oriented, supporting all Volvo Car Corporation´s production plants and car programs locally and globally. Within the Local Industrialization Volvo Cars Propulsion Component Team in Skövde, we are now looking for a new team member working as a Senior Commodity Engineer (Product and Process Engineer). What you’ll do
At Manufacturing Engineering, you are part of an engineering team that makes sure that the propulsion systems we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. As our next Senior Commodity Engineer, you will coordinate product and process development during project and running phase for our Skövde plant Electric Drive Unit production, together with your industrialization team from concept phase to Final Status Report.
You will also:
• Be product and process responsible from manufacturing point of view and take full responsibility and ownership within the area.
• Develop and verify lean, robust and ergonomic product and process solutions and be accountable for the result.
• Ensure product and process feedback to Central Commodity in order to fulfil the manufacturing requirements.
• Perform and verify FMEA for process.
• Release and quality assure necessary steering documents.
• Collaborate and communicate with other stakeholders globally to align, learn and improve production solutions.
• Work with continuous improvement in all aspects of my role.
• Plan and prioritize tasks according to delivery and verification need and contribute to balance work within our team.
• Communicate with transparency, escalate and handshake deviations in time.
• Deliver lessons learned within the area.
• Support and contribute to risk assessment activities.
The position requires some travelling.
What you’ll bring
We believe you:
• have minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering work experience (product/process development).
• have experience from new model programs.
• are fluent in English, both in spoken and written.
• are skilled in Team Center, CATIA V5, AutoCAD & Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• excel in systematic work, skilled in problem solving and decision-making.
• master communication and global cross functional collaboration.
• have good planning and documentation skills.
• have a global approach and mindset.
