Flex Power Modules develops and produces world-class power modules for Datacenter, Telecom and AI applications and have global footprint and engagement. The typical products are DC/DC, PoL (point of load) products and we constantly develop new innovative platforms to our customers.
Our power modules deliver effects over 2 000 W on a surface that is only slightly larger than a matchbox. This puts enormous requirements on mechanical solutions where used components size, tolerance and strength is constantly challenged.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Sr. Design Engineer Mechanics located in Kalmar, Sweden.

Reporting to the Research & Development Manager, the Sr. Design Engineer's role involves the development of mechanical components such as Power/signal pins, cooling plates and ferrites. Additionally you may work on topics such as the evaluation and selection of glues, thermal filling materials and evaluate the producibility of our designs with regards to tolerances.


What a typical day looks like:
Together with partners, development and production teams you design and develop mechanical aspects of power modules such as ferrites, pins, connectors and baseplates (cooling connection interfaces)
Working together with the simulation team you ensure effective cooling of our products, researching of cooling thermal filling materials such as pastes/pads, water cooling and heatsinks
You participate in the development of future products in design concept studies, producibility studies, assembly studies, technical documentation and specifications
Frequently you work with the product lifecycle management system (PLM)
You are involved in the design of test equipment, perform tests and create documentation.


The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Someone with a strong academic background ideally in mechanical engineering or similar
We are looking for someone experienced working with CAD Tools (we use Creo Elements)
Strong communication skills in Swedish and English are required to be able to lead and advance technical discussions with international teams and stakeholders
And knowledge in some of the areas: small mechanics, product development, structural mechanics, and material theory would give you a strong advantage
