In relation to this we are transforming our inbound logistics operation where the key objectives are cost and CO2 efficiency in support of our 2025 strategy to become a leader in inbound automotive logistics. This position (Senior Director, Global Head of Packaging), plays a key role when it comes to our future and our ongoing transformation to becoming a globally leading OEM.

What you will do.
You will lead the Global Packaging team at Volvo Cars which consists of 60 highly dedicated and competent employees. The role is based in our Global HQ in Torslanda (Gothenburg/Sweden) reporting to the Global Head of Inbound Logistics & Packaging and is part of a global leadership team.
You are responsible for the overall Packaging Strategy, driving strategic packaging design, commercial development and industrialization, and all packaging operations related the inbound transportation of all production parts for all our plants across all modes of transport. The role is also expected to drive upstream value chain impact in support of end-to-end cost and flow efficiency and to drive our transformation initiatives.
Who are we looking for?
You are expected to have a rich, proven experience in automotive packaging design and a deep understanding of the external packaging market. Experience and understanding of automotive logistics, sourcing/contracting and Order-to-Delivery processes will be a strong merit.
You encourage new thinking in those around you and you build excitement to explore the possibilities of new ways of working. You know to translate the excitement into positive action through feedback and encouragement giving your team the latitude to get the work done.
You can handle complexity and create clarity through your effective communication and strategic mindset.
You have a master’s degree in a relevant subject (Supply Chain or Logistics) is preferred, however leadership experience of at least five years as a manager with HR responsibility is a requirement.
