What you’ll do
We are looking for a curious, creative Senior Engineering Manager to accelerate transformation, learning, tech quality and delivery within Solution Platforms which is a cluster within our department Digital Core.
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing the engineering teams responsible for our product mission. You will grow and develop skilled engineering managers and software engineers who build and provide the foundation of IT infrastructure at Volvo Cars. You will remove obstacles in their way to build platform products at scale with speed. Come join us and let’s build the IT infrastructure that powers our transformation!
You will together with your cluster get the mission to develop, support, operate and maintain some of our core IT platforms to meet our business needs in the short and long term. You will be responsible for maximizing the value of the IT platforms and you balance development, life cycle management and ensure platform functionality and stability to deliver best-in-class solutions. You will also shape our future together with the cluster and contribute to our agile way of working.
Moreover, you will:

·         Build and promote a positive engineering culture in our cluster.
·         Drive and nurture collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and engagement.
·         Advocate and advance a modern software development, operation, and engineering practices within the Public Cloud and IT Infrastructure area.
·         Lead and develop the technology strategy in your domain and together with the senior product manager make sure the architecture and strategy enable the product vision.
·         Be overall responsible for quality of technical design, development, and deliveries.
The position is in Gothenburg or Stockholm.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this position, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about building great IT infrastructure platforms, excels at leading, developing, and empowering engineers, and believes in a lean agile culture with a focus on delivering customer value. You have a background within software engineering & IT infrastructure.
You have solid experience as a leader and manager, and if you have previous experience with coaching other engineering managers and leaders – even better! As a person, we see that you have great communication skills, facilitation, and presentation skills. You have experience in developing others by using coaching, mentoring and feedback. You are good at problem-solving and decision-making and have a DevOps mindset.
