The Sr. Operation Engineer is part of the Global IT organization and is responsible for providing second- and third level support for Advent's hosted solutions and cloud products.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitor, respond to and escalate process and system failures for critical systems, such as ACD, CAR, PDS, Advent Direct etc..
Advanced Visual Basic and PowerShell scripting of system monitors and download scripts
Troubleshooting PowerShell download scripts
Create/troubleshoot new VMWare instances for client use.
Fulfill Access Requests and password resets for clients
Generate system status reports using SQL queries
Demonstrated advanced problem solving and analytical capability
Testing and release of production code, patches and bug fixes
Proven ability to operate in high pressure situations and successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible
Able to lead and manage small and medium projects
Ability to mentor and assist junior team members
Qualifications:
Must be willing to work after hours and weekends as needed
Must be able to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or University with an emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience required
Minimum 3-5 years experience in IT support
