Our Exciting Opportunity
The holder of the position is responsible for driving architecture evolution of baseband SW deployment to enable future and current products with high quality, scalability, flexibility, and speed in product development. The tasks include systemization as well as planning and implementation.
You will
This role is the global technical leader of leaders within baseband SW application development. The SW development community is large; thousands of developers spread out in different time zones.
SW architects and sub-domains within baseband have a level of freedom within their domains. This role, however, has the overall authority to decide on baseband SW application regarding:
SW design patterns
Build configurations
Communication mechanism
Setting requirements on platforms
Setting requirement of SW build systems.
This role is a technology leadership role responsible for producing abstractions, concepts, and innovations, but also own implementation work with high quality. This role supports all development programs and baseband product domains with architecture, implementation competence and decisions within the area of deployment.
In large scale product development, the architecture impact on development flow is substantial. The architect role is hence responsible for understanding and actively work to drive the SW architecture towards development efficiency and flow by:
SW component decoupling
Backward compatible interfaces
Testable components
To be successful in the role you must have
The ability to move between high level abstraction and detailed code.
Excellent SW craftmanship skill
Excellent cooperation skills.
The role is required to contribute actively with SW architecture aspects in CI and test strategy discussions and decisions to enable an efficient Production System.
To maintain competence in the area this role is required to follow industry trends as well as academic work. Active participation and contributions in international conferences is encouraged.
The size and geographical spread of the baseband developer community is large, and this role is required to collaborate and actively work with other leaders, e.g. baseband SW architects, line management, product line, the developer’s community and development programs.
