The Sr. Supplier Development Engineer, Reagents role is responsible for being the technical expert on supplier related information within the Global Supply Chain organization, supporting the assay core team by assessing supplier capabilities and providing input to new supplier selection, evaluation, and qualification, as required during program design changes and development.
In this role you will have the opportunity to learn and develop through team project work, supplier visits, and a variety of internal training opportunities.
This position is part of the Global Supply Chain Management Supplier Development Team and will be located in Solna, Sweden. In Supplier Development Engineering, we enhance supplier performance by resolving quality issues, reducing cost, developing process controls, and implementing successful design transfer, to improve business alignment between the Supplier and Cepheid, and to ultimately add value to Cepheid through improved supplier performance.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Create or develop specs and control plans for new critical parts. Plan first article inspections as required. Identify secondary sources for new critical parts.
Interface between suppliers and internal teams for supplier issues related to specs/performance. Review, approve, and release change orders related to suppliers.
Identify, quantify, prioritize, and drive supplier improvement projects including supplier recommended design changes to internal teams.



The essential requirements of the job include
Bachelor of Science degree preferably Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical engineering, or Chemical engineering with 5+ years relevant experience or Master’s degree (business or technical) with 3+ years or experience.
Demonstrated technical and analytical ability with high degree of professional acumen.
Strong / Concise verbal and written communication skills
Must be willing and able to travel to supplier locations (primarily regionally located, 15% of time)
Demonstrated experience working directly with internal functional organizations and suppliers on a regular basis.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
Ability to read and interpret product Bill of Materials (BOM's)
Self-starter with the ability to adapt, critical thinking skills, and problem solve under pressure
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Point, Agile, and SAP
