SSAB- Data Scientist

SSAB Europe is moving forward with digital transformation in production and operations according to the digitalization strategy and roadmap. We are looking for a highly motivated person to join us in this journey as Data Scientist. Placement Rahe, Hämeenlinna, Luleå or Borlänge.
Your mission is to support SSAB Europe in production digitalization development according to the strategy and roadmap. You will be responsible for utilizing modern digital technologies to create insights and added value by using large amounts of data created in our production processes. Focus is to continuously develop our processes and ways of working towards data-driven decision-making. You will be collaborating actively with many people from different locations and functions like production, maintenance, process- product- and system development. You will be also working closely with our external partners.
You will be a key player in the Strategic Automation and Digitalization Development team, where you will contribute to the overall digitalization journey while also working with short and long term activities and projects. This role requires moderate travelling mainly in the Nordics. You will report to the Head of Strategic Automation and Digitalization Development.
The position is permanent and will be located in Raahe, Hämeenlinna Luleå or Borlänge.
Your qualifications
We are looking for a proactive, self-driven and results-oriented team player with relevant educational background who enjoys working with modern digital technologies. Ideal candidate should have experience from the following areas:
1. Data Preparation and Validation
2. Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL)
3. Data Lakes and Data Warehouses
4. Cloud Platforms
5. AI/ML Algorithms
6. Reporting and Visualization
7. Some Programming Languages, like Python
8. Project Management
