About the position
SSAB is a world leading steel company with a strategy to expand our leading position in fossil-free steels, grow our sales of high strengths steels globally, while developing our leading home market positions in Nordic and North America. We operate in a constantly developing industry context and have set an ambitious transformation agenda for the coming years.
We are now looking for a strategic and proactive person to take on the role of Director of Strategy for SSAB Group. In this role you will work closely with the Group Executive Committee to strengthen our overall company strategy and transformation plans, and liaison with SSABs divisions in advancing strategic plans.
Position reports to EVP Strategy & Digitalization.
Main responsibilities
Support Group Executive Team and Divisions in advancing SSABs strategy
Plan and drive SSABs group-wide annual strategy development process
Lead selected investigations and strategic initiatives for SSAB Group
Follow up on strategic targets and initiatives
Develop and provide thought leadership on market and industry insights
Be a thought partner on strategic matters to the Group Executive Team
Prepare regular briefing materials to the Group Executive Team and SSAB Board

Personal characteristics
A candidate should have strengths in the following areas.
Strategic mindset.Top management viewpoint with the ability to see patterns and translate analytical results to concrete actionable insights
Intellectual capacity. Strong analytical capabilities with ability to independently structure and manage ambiguous situations and problems
Communication. Excellent ability to build understanding and alignment on strategic matters, and produce readymade top management/board level materials.
Curious disposition and drive. Genuine interest to understand and learn with the ability to ask the right questions. Self-starter with strong energy to drive processes and tasks to completion.
Effective personal style. Very good ability to cooperate with top and middle management across geographic and cultural differences. Proven leadership ability of teams.

Qualifications and experience
Master of Science in Engineering, Finance & Business Administration, or equivalent
5-8 years of successful management consulting experience – or similar experience
Very good English needed. Good Swedish is meriting
Experience in steel or other basic materials industry is meriting
