SSAB - Fatigue Specialist

As a Fatigue Specialist you will work with this field from several different perspectives, ranging from R&D projects to providing expert support directly to our customers. This gives that you will work together with people in R&D, Business Development and Sales and Marketing functions internally, but also SSAB customers and external R&D partners.
Main tasks
Contribute with expertise and evaluate fatigue performance of new steel grades in development projects and material approvals. Order, analyze and communicate fatigue tests in accordance to SSAB procedures, industrial norms and standards or customer specifications.
Initiate and co-ordinate R&D activities within the area of fatigue internally and in external R&D partner network.
Provide expert advice and support for SSAB customers. Participate in customer development projects.
Give presentations and hold educations in internal and external forums.
Contribute in production of marketing material, product data sheet and technical recommendations.



Your qualifications
Master’s degree or higher (Materials science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent)
Experience in fatigue design and structural analysis is mandatory.
Experience from practical testing of fatigue loaded steel structures is a merit.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with a variety of internal and external contacts. Comfortable in giving presentations in area of expertise
Ability to plan, execute, follow-up and communicate development activities
Fluent in English and Swedish, other languages a benefit
